Brian Reich is a senior vice president at One Strategy Group. He has spent three decades advising and supporting high-level leaders across business, government, media, and global affairs as they navigate defining moments, launch ambitious initiatives, and reposition themselves for long-term influence.
Prior to joining One Strategy Group, Brian ran his own strategic communications firm, and held senior roles in government, the private sector, nonprofits, and political projects.
Brian most recently served as Deputy Assistant Secretary for Strategic Planning and Director of Speechwriting at the US Department of Health and Human Services, where he was responsible for shaping and developing messaging across a broad range of issues, as well as crafting speeches and talking points for the Secretary, Deputy Secretary, and other Department leaders. Before the Biden-Harris Administration, Brian was Senior Vice President of Branding and Marketing for Murmuration, which provides organizations working at the community level with the data, tools, and research they need to fuel their civic engagement efforts. He also led communications for United Bid 2026, the team responsible for bringing the World Cup to the United States, Canada, and Mexico, which included authoring the official Bid Book. Brian was founding Director of the Hive, a data science innovation lab at the UN Refugee Agency (USA for UNHCR) and led the Tiguan Targeting Lab, a multi-million dollar project with Volkswagen to apply political-style data and strategies to consumer marketing. He has also held communication leadership roles at Viacom, Edelman, Cone, and was Briefing Director for Vice President Al Gore during the final two years of the Clinton-Gore Administration.
Brian is the author of three books: The Imagination Gap, Shift & Reset, and Media Rules!. His work and views have been published in the New York Times, Wired, AdAge, and the Chronicle of Philanthropy, and he has appeared on NPR and Fox News , as well as been an expert contributor for Fast Company.
Brian taught consumer behavior and marketing strategy at The George Washington University and Columbia University and was the National Fan Ambassador for USA Curling. He has toured every baseball stadium in the country. He is a standup comedian, a photographer, and an avid sports fan. Brian attended the University of Michigan and earned a degree in political science from Columbia University, and now lives in New York City with his wife and two teenagers.
