Steven Gottlieb, managing director of One Strategy Group, is a strategic communications advisor who helps leaders turn complex, high-stakes decisions into clear and cohesive narratives. Across a career built on trust and long-standing relationships, he has focused on strategic advisory, corporate communications and editorial positioning, and business and influencer relationship development — connecting people and ideas across disciplines to move ambitious work forward. As part of One Strategy Group's leadership team, Steven advises clients and plays a senior role across the firm.

Before joining One Strategy Group, Steven founded Gottlieb Group Communications in 2006, advising clients across local, state, national, and global arenas in industries undergoing dislocation and transformation. His practice has spanned sectors including energy, clean technology, biomedical research, supply chain, professional sports, government, and technology, with a consistent emphasis on innovation and on shifting long-standing behaviors and perspectives.


Earlier in his career, Steven held leadership positions at the Anti-Defamation League in Denver and San Diego, where he oversaw regional civil rights initiatives and public opinion efforts on First Amendment issues.


Steven graduated with highest honors from the University of California, Santa Cruz, with a Bachelor of Arts in Modern Society and Social Thought. His undergraduate paper on the American press during the Holocaust resides in the collection of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington, D.C.


A two-time NCAA All-American and the 1989 NCAA tennis champion, Steven serves on the Executive Committee of the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, Rhode Island.
